The best kept secret: EMT conduit.

THE BEST KEPT SECRET: EMT CONDUIT

(1-minute video)

EMT or electrical metallic tubing may be the most versatile pole out there to mount a birdhouse. Strong, affordable, rustproof and nearly indestructible, it may be the best kept secret in backyard birding.

4. SISTERING TO A WOODEN FENCE

(1.5-minute video)

If you have a sturdy wood fence or other wood structure, this may be a great option. Using readily available 1.25" EMT conduit and brackets, we got the job done in less than 10 minutes and under $40.  Easy to remove and relocate. No digging or ladders required.

5. SISTERING TO A CHAIN-LINK FENCE

(1-minute video)

Using inexpensive radiator hose clamps, we had our Peep Show mounted in under 10 minutes. A great solution if you have chain-link fencing. Easy to remove and relocate. No ladders or digging required.

6. IN-GROUND WITH CEMENT OR FOAM

(2-minute video)

If you are looking for a more permanent and sturdy solution with prime curb appeal, try anchoring your post with either cement or expanding foam. This gold standard approach requires a little more time and effort, but the top notch results reflect the care you put into the process.
